Life and Legacy
As the eldest known son of Joseph Wiley Roberts Sr. and Isabelle Sineath Crosby, Edgar spent his entire life in the South Carolina Lowcountry. He and his wife, Julia Walsh Roberts, established their home in the Ridgeland area of Jasper County, where they became deeply rooted members of their community.
Edgar and Julia were lifelong members of Gillisonville Baptist Church, one of the area’s historic congregations. Their commitment to faith and family remained a defining part of their lives. Today, they rest side-by-side in the church cemetery, a lasting testament to their devotion to each other and to the community they served.
